Could You Benefit From a DPF Solution?

DPF stands for Diesel Particulate Filter. This filter sits in the engine of a diesel car, and its job is to remove any diesel particulate matter/soot from the exhaust in the engine. A DPF solution in Hertfordshire will reduce the likelihood of any filter blockages, expensive repairs, the engine will breathe easier, and you won’t have to worry about making short journeys.

When buying a car, you need to take into account your mileage. Roughly how many miles are you going to be doing in the car? If you’re only going to be making short journeys in stop/start traffic, then you will want to avoid diesel cars or cars with a diesel particulate filter. However, if your journeys consist of travelling long distances constantly then a diesel engine is a good option for you, and this will also allow for the filter to be kept clean.

Should the filter block at any point the car will notify you with an orange light shaped like a diesel particulate filter on the dashboard. You can clean the filter yourself by driving for 10 minutes at about 40mph. If this fails to work, take the car to a garage as soon as you can.

Having a DPF solution in Hertfordshire will benefit your vehicle in many ways. Our solution to the diesel particulate filter will increase the power in the car, enabling it to go faster and be smoother to drive. Using our solution for the filter will also improve your miles per gallon, and there won’t be any expensive bills if things were to go wrong. Occasionally if the car isn’t doing long enough journeys, the engine won’t be getting hot enough, and the soot will build up in the filter. If not resolved it can result in further issues. These problems must be looked at immediately to avoid further damage. The best thing to do is to take your car to a garage where the filter can be cleaned professionally in a process called Regeneration.
